Coordinating Sourcing in the International Marketplace

The International Marketplace has the highest grocery store density in Indianapolis, but most of the grocery stores specialize in particular immigrant populations, and their small size usually prevents them from getting access to the economy of scale of a big box grocer. Is there a way sourcing or facilities could be pooled to help them be more successful?

  1. This seems like something that would be very important when we talk about culturally appropriate food being as important as healthy food. There are some large areas that have immigrants. They may not be in food deserts, but they might be too far away from the International Marketplace which might feel very similar to being in a food desert.
